Stained Glass with Dave Houser

Andrew Carroll
June 14, 2016

Dave Houser will teach Stained Glass during Week 2, Blues & Swing Week, running July 12-17, 2015.

This class introduces traditional leaded stained glass and ways to create and incorporate kiln worked glass details. Both leading and copper foil panel assembly will be taught, along with glass slumping and fusing. Supplies will be provided. Students are invited to bring their own panel designs and/or any unfinished work from previous classes. Assisting is Mary Stewart. Minimum age: 16. Materials: $50.

Since 1981, Dave Houser has been a full-time stained glass artisan, working out of home in the woods of southern Preston County, WV. From there he designs and executes leaded stained glass panels, ornaments and kaleidoscopes. His leaded panels tend to be either geometric or abstract in design, commanding a high degree of precision and appropriate use of color. For the past 14 years he has been an instructor as well, teaching week-long stained glass classes at the Cedar Lakes Conference Center in Ripley, WV, and the Augusta Heritage Center. You can visit Dave on the web at: www.houserglass.com.
